# Eschatology
## Catechism of the Catholic Church
From the Greek word _eschaton_, meaning "last." Eschatology refers to the area of Christian faith which is concerned about "the last things," and the coming of Jesus on "the last day": our human destiny, death, judgment, resurrection of the body, heaven, purgatory, and hell--all of which are contained in the final articles of the Creed ([[1.2.3.11.p2h#^ccc-1001|1001]], [[1.2.3.12.p2k#^ccc-1020|1020]]-[[1.2.3.12.p2q#^ccc-1050|1050]]; cf. [[4.2.0.1.p9z#^ccc-2771|2771]]).
