# Fount (of Living water)
## The Way of Perfection
FOUNT (OF LIVING WATER). A symbol for Christ who gives living water, his own life. Drinking directly from the fount of living water is the equivalent of perfect contemplation (the prayer of union) ([[tj-way-ccel-32|32.9]]). To drink of this fount, we must give ourselves entirely to the Lord so that in everything he may do his will in us ([[tj-way-ccel-32|32.9]]). The road or way leading to this fount is prayer, especially the prayer of recollection ([[tj-way-ccel-21|21.4]]; [[tj-way-ccel-28|28.5]]). The fount lies at the end of the way ([[tj-way-ccel-42|42.4]]). The fount is an overflowing one; rivers stream from it, large and small, and little pools for children (beginners) ([[tj-way-ccel-20|20.2]]). The Lord invited all to strive to come to this fount, and promised all that he would give them to drink if they do not falter on the way ([[tj-way-ccel-19|19.15]]; [[tj-way-ccel-20|20.1]]).
