# The Kingship of Christ The doctrine that Christ reigns as King over all creation — over individual souls, families, civil society, and nations — by right of His divine nature, His work of redemption, and His conquest of sin and death. The Feast of Christ the King was instituted by Pope Pius XI in the encyclical *Quas Primas* (1925) and, in the reformed calendar, falls on the last Sunday of Ordinary Time.
