# Paschal Mystery / Sacrifice
## Catechism of the Catholic Church
Christ's work of redemption accomplished principally by his Passion, death, Resurrection, and glorious Ascension, whereby "dying he destroyed our death, rising he restored our life" ([[2.0.0.0.p2t#^ccc-1067|1067]]; cf. [[1.2.2.5.p1s#^ccc-654|654]]). The Paschal Mystery is celebrated and made present in the liturgy of the Church, and its saving effects are communicated through the sacraments ([[2.1.0.0.p2u#^ccc-1076|1076]]), especially the Eucharist, which renews the paschal sacrifice of Christ as the sacrifice offered by the Church ([[1.2.2.4.p1m#^ccc-571|571]], [[2.2.1.3.p41#^ccc-1362|1362]]-[[2.2.1.3.p41#^ccc-1372|1372]]).
