# Piety
## Catechism of the Catholic Church
One of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit which leads one to devotion to God ([[3.1.1.7.p67#^ccc-1831|1831]]). Filial piety connotes an attitude of reverence and respect by children toward their parents ([[3.2.2.4.p7u#^ccc-2215|2215]]). Piety also refers to the religious sense of a people, and its expression in popular devotions ([[2.2.4.1.p58#^ccc-1674|1674]]).
