# You Can Be a Peacemaker ## ***"Blessed Are the Peacemakers..."*** In the wake of tragic and violent events, I very alarmed at how quickly motives are assigned to an unknown perpetrators. You CAN do something to help prevent personal, political, or civil violence or worse. You CAN do something to effect change. You can be a peacemaker. Express your opinions, but don’t present them as facts or debate ghosts. That only empowers those who want to twist the truth or use it as an opportunity to stir more division. Frame your posts and discussions clearly as opinion and speculation until an official motive and suspect(s) are confirmed by the appropriate authority. Finally, the hardest of all, take some time and pray, pray for unity as this was [[john-17#^da499a|Jesus prayer]] and for those that will come to believe because of your words.
