# Invocation to the Nine Choirs of the Holy Angels In union with all the holy Choirs of Angels, we begin by praying the Sanctus. Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ have mercy on us. Christ have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. God the Father of heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us. God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us. Holy Mary, pray for us. Holy Mother of God, pray for us. Holy Virgin of virgins, pray for us. Holy Mary, Queen of the Angels, pray for us. Saint Michael, pray for us. Saint Gabriel, pray for us. Saint Rafael, pray for us. All you Holy Angels and Archangels, pray for us. I. For My Own Purification and Sanctification You, Holy Angels, help me to be a humble servant like Christ, serving those around me. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Archangels, enlighten my mind as I read sacred scripture so that Christ’s truth may mark my life. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Virtues, open my eyes to the beauty and dignity of the Holy Mass so that I may long to receive Christ’s body and blood as often as I can. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Principalities, shake me out of my self-complacency, remind me that I, too, am a steward to whom the Lord entrusted a talent, with responsibility within my family, place of work in society; help me to willingly work for the good of others. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Powers, teach me the way of heroic virtue; help me to use the sword against myself, so that, purified in mind and heart, I may generously and joyfully follow Christ Crucified and suffer anything for his love. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Dominations, enkindle in my heart such a love for God's holy will, that in docility to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit I may live and work for the salvation of the world. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Thrones, help me to adore our heavenly Father with you and to live and persevere in the life of grace. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Cherubim, sustain and guide me through the divine purifications, that my mind may be clear and free to understand the word and will of God, and to carry them out in daily life. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Seraphim, come and share in my every Holy Communion, so that joined with you I may adore the Triune God with ardent charity and sing his praises day and night. We ask you, hear us. II. For The Hierarchy And All the Members of the Church You, Holy Angels, open the hearts of all the faithful to continual conversion of heart in a spirit of penance; Lead those who have gone astray back to God through loving tears of contrition. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Archangels, lead the entire church, priests and laity, to a deeper sacramental life and a greater reverence in the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy. Watch over those men and women whom God is calling to the priesthood and consecrated life. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Virtues, strengthen the clergy and all the faithful to live and defend true Christian values in this world, so that they may be a light of Christ to the world. Strengthen all Christian families in their vocation to live love and harmony and truth and protect them against the spiritual attacks of the world and the evil one. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Principalities, teach the members of the Church the life of interior silence and prayer, so that all may hear and follow the call of Christ to ever more generous service. Work with and strengthen the bishops, priests and all the faithful in their sacred task to pray and to suffer for defense of human life from conception to natural death. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Powers, teach the Church anew the wisdom of the Cross, detach the clergy and all the faithful from the allurements of the world so that the Body of Christ may become an instrument of merciful love in the hands of Jesus for the conversion of the whole world. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Dominations, stir up in all the members of the Church the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, so that no longer they live, but Christ in them through His Spirit. Accompany missionaries in their work that through the light of Christ in them all nations may be drawn to the Catholic Church. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Thrones, may the Church be evermore united with you in holy adoration, so that all mankind may be gathered into the Kingdom of God and Christ’s peace reign upon earth. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Cherubim, assist the persecuted Christians to remain steadfast in the faith and to offer out their sufferings for the Church and the salvation of the world. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Seraphim, pour out upon the members of the Church a greater share in your fiery love, so that drawn by the longing for God, and fleeing all attachment to this world, they may run to meet the heavenly Bridegroom with burning lamps of charity. We ask you, hear us. III. For The Leaders of Nations and All Mankind You, Holy Angels, motivate and guide our government officials in the execution of God's will and the care for the common good; may they promote solidarity with the poor and the least in society. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Archangels, enlighten our President, his co-workers and all leaders of nations regarding the gravity of their responsibility for the common good and inspire in them a respect of the natural law and religious freedom. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Virtues, guard the heart of leaders in government and industry from greed and corruption; inspire them to respect the dignity of workers and to show compassion for the poor. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Principalities, promote the good of nations, grant them peace and harmony. Protect them against natural catastrophes, from hatred and war, and defend mankind against demonic attacks on the sanctity of human life and on the divine institutions of marriage and the family. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Powers, give to the leaders of the world in our country a clear vision of God's natural law and true discernment of spirits, so that they be deceived neither by destructive ideologies nor by spiritual blindness. Protect all nations and peoples from the insidious influence of the evil one. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Dominations, inflame all men with longing for the Supreme Good, so that the world may overcome all things through love and live by eternal values. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Thrones, open the eyes of mankind once again for the good, the true and the beautiful. Teach world leaders, scientists and educators to respect the laws and order in God's creation, so that by God's grace peace and tranquility be established among nations and in the whole of creation. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Cherubim, cut away pride, avarice and love for power which ensnare and enslave mankind. Speak to the consciences of all men through the splendor of divine truth so that the Gospel be accepted and lived everywhere. We ask you, hear us. You, Holy Seraphim, come to the help of mankind. Enkindle the fire of divine love everywhere, so that angels and men united in God and His Church may attain the repatriation of the whole creation, by leading it back to the Triune God.
