# Sacrament ## Catechism of the Catholic Church An efficacious sign of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us through the work of the Holy Spirit ([[1.2.3.9.p27|ccc-774]], [[2.1.1.2.p35|ccc-1131]]).
