[[3.1.1.2.p5k#^ccc-1722|1722]]). ## The Interior Castle Study Edition Glossary Teresa uses this term rather than “mystical” to explain what God does in the soul or what we cannot achieve through our own efforts. She begins to explain supernatural experiences in the fourth dwelling places, and these experiences are very difficult for her to explain. Nonetheless Teresa does so very well, pointing out the different ways in which God works in the soul as it continues advancing through the remaining dwelling places. These experiences grow deeper and more varied, always increasing one’s desire for God and to serve him through the love and service of others.
